Summary: Firefox 2 doesn't bold text, makes gmail unusable Product: Wine Version: CVS/GIT Platform: Other OS/Version: other Status: NEW Keywords: download Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: wine-gdi-(printing) AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: dank@kegel.com
gmail relies on bold working to show which conversations are unread. In Firefox 2.0.3, this doesn't work at all unless you install corefonts.

--- Comment #1 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2008-01-02 05:28:20 --- Oh, see also bug 7520. I don't think they're related, since that one isn't worked around by installing corefonts, but it sure sounds similar.

--- Comment #2 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2008-05-22 13:55:44 --- Still true, though now I think gmail shows read and unread subjects with different background colors, which makes this less serious. And corefonts still works around it.

Austin, are you sure you don't have corefonts installed in your system?

--- Comment #6 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2009-01-18 03:47:32 --- Removing deprecated CVS/GIT version tag. Please retest in current git. If the bug is still present in today's wine, but was not present in some earlier version of wine, please update version field to earliest known version of wine that had the bug. Thanks!

--- Comment #8 from butraxz@gmail.com 2012-05-17 15:13:15 CDT --- This bug has not been updated for two years. Is this still an issue i current (1.5.4) or newer wine ? You may also close this as abandoned if you feel that that this is issue is no longer relevant to you. FFox 2 and 3 are no longer supported by Mozilla. In 2008 the version in question, e.g. ff2 was working, so unless ff versions are updated too, shouldnt this be closed as fixed ?

Yes, it works fine in wine-1.5.30-191-g30e9a37. Thanks for testing. Now Gmail defaults to the compatibility view for FF2, I hope this didn't impact the test.
