As you may have heard from several news site all around like...
Phoronix - http://www.phoronix.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98304&goto=newpost LinuxToy (In Chinese) - https://linuxtoy.org/archives/chinese-applied-patent-about-wine-arm-and-gran...
As a member from a Chinese founded community, and as we have Wine as part of our distribution repository... we feel deeply ashamed to this incident. There seemed no need for me to comment more on this, so I am here just trying to leave this Bug report and we are hoping to see the progress on dealing with this shameful action soon.
We feel sorry and ashamed, again. But just to make this clear, we are not seeing this as any kind of racial problem. As a community that pushes forward to open, we feel not the same as anyone who led to this shameful incident, in this emerging world-level open source movement, we hope the best to real open source guys that knows what to share and what to charish.
Here, may conclude the bug report.

--- Comment #2 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
if you search patent databases you'll find a lot more patent application filings linked to Wine and WinCE/ARM:
CN102364433B "Method on ARM processors Wine build tools transplant"
CN102364442A "Method for transplanting Wine from x86 to advanced risc machine (ARM) platform"
CN102331968A "WINE (wine is not an emulator) compatibility automatic checking method on OMS (open mobile system) platform"
CN102364435A "Method for realizing application program interface (API) of WinCE"
CN102393816A "Full-screen display method for WinCE (Windows CE) applied on OMS (open mobile system)"
CN102331927A "Method for integrating soft keyboard input of Wine and Android mobile phone"
CN102364434A "Method for integrating Wine and Android mouse input"
CN102331928A "Method of source code level compatible hybrid API (application programming interface)"
Various patent applications claim to use parts/concepts of Wine (of course 'tailored' to the actual use case).
One could probably dig up hundreds of such patent applications linked to the Wine project, given enough time.

--- Comment #4 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for over a year. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.51 or newer) wine?
