eMule has a information box about the status of the connections in the servers tab. In Wine this box appear empty. If you install native riched20 the text will appear.

eMule 0.49c wine 1.1.24 on gentoo amd64
vcrun6 and corefonts installed, but not riched20.
I assume that this bug is fixed now and may be closed.
