RipIt4Me version 1.7.1.0 on Ubuntu 7.0.4-x86_64 with wine-0.9.46 no longer
works since update from wine-0.9.45:

While running in Wizard Mode, reads DVD fine at first, then upon clicking
'Next', gets to Step 2 ("Create PSL").  Clicking on this yields the following
error:
"Failed to load the IFOs!!! Please report this error on the forum!  In the
meantime, you can use the Wizard mode, skip Step2 and Step3 (the PSL and
ripping steps) and try the cleanup once more.  Refer to FAQ 11 for more
details!"

After clicking 'OK' on the error message, another subsequently appears:
"There does not seem to be a DVD in your selected drive"

Worked flawlessly under previous wine version.

Am glad to go thrugh those instructions, but after entering "sudo apt-get
build-dep wine wine-dev", I get the error:
"E: Unable to find a source package for wine"
What next?

That step is only needed if you don't have all the dependencies needed by Wine.
 Is that the case?

Oh sorry, yes, the result of:

I can't reproduce this under 32-bit gusty. Might this be a problem related to
running wine under 64-bit?

Can anyone running 32-bit confirm this problem exists? If so, I'll try on
another computer, but that may not be for a couple days.

I have this problem on Ubuntu 6.06 (Dapper). I will try to run the regression
test but I use Synaptic and the http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt dapper
repository to keep wine up to date. To run regression testing do I need to use
Synaptic to un-install wine first? After regression testing can I continue to
use Synaptic to keep wine up to date? What (if anything) do I need to do to
clean things up after regression testing?

git gives me the error:

git, the filemanager with GNU Interactive Tools, is now called gitfm.

If you are looking for git, Linus Torvald's content tracker, install
the cogito and git-core packages and see README.Debian and git(7).

This transition script will be removed in the debian stable
release after etch.

Umm, if you read what you posted, it's trying to tell you that you are running
"git" the file manager program and not "git" the revision control system. From
your post:

Dave, did you take all the steps in the instructions? Perhaps missed "cd
wine-git" when getting that error?

I was able to run the regression but I was not able to determine which change
caused the problem. The problem seemed to be stateful. It would stay broken
even as I moved backwards through the regression. But if I rebooted it would
start working. So I would have to re-boot between each regression. I just ran
out of time to get through them all. But then the problem went away in a later
release. I am on 0.9.53 and all is well. So, if no one else is still having
this problem, maybe this bug can be closed.

Confirmed this bug using Ubuntu 8.04 and WINE 1.0 RC1. Adding
WINEDEBUG=warn+all to the execution gives a number of messages like:

found (c000003a)
warn:file:CreateFileW Unable to create file
L"C:\DVD_VIDEO\OriginalIFOs\VIDEO_TS.IFO" (status c000003a)
warn:file:CopyFileW Unable to open dest
L"C:\DVD_VIDEO\OriginalIFOs\VIDEO_TS.IFO"

The displayed error dialogs are identical to the original reporters'.

There is a message for each file copied. Manually copying
C:\WINDOWS\temp\TempIFOs to the expected OriginalIFOs\ location allows PSL
creation to succeed. Similar messages are received if a non-empty TempIFOs\ is
not created in C:\WINDOWS\temp prior to running the application.

Confirmed also in Kubuntu Hardy 8.04 x86 with Wine 1.0-rc2. Errors the same as
reported previously. Creating additional folders as suggested workarounds do
not resolve th PSL creation issue, and RI4M stops dead. This application worked
flawlessly before I installed Hardy & the new versions of wine.

Confirming, since several people all have the problem.

I can't produce the bug here (on 32-bit ubuntu dapper):

1. Install DVD Decrypter
2. Download RipIt4Me
3. Copy mfc42.dll and msvcp60.dll to windows/system32
4. Insert a DVD, mount it.
5. Run RipIt4Me

I have attempted to carry out the regression testing however when attempting to
compile Wine it fails with the following error.

/wine-git/dlls/ntdll/signal_i386.c:940: undefined reference to
`VALGRIND_MAKE_WRITABLE'

I am running Ubuntu 8.04

I have version 1:3.3.0-1ubunutu1 of Valgrind installed

If anyone can help I would be obliged.

Just comment out that line, or you can temporarily uninstall valgrind.

I decided to reset the bisect and start again, when issuing the reset command I

I managed to clear the bisect problem but still was getting the "undefined
reference to `ldap_parse_vlv_control" error as in my earlier comment.
I have since carried out a complete reinstall and followed the guidelines
again, and still I get the same error on compiling.
