Backtrace and commands

Upon login in using Steam, the error "page fault on write access" is thrown,
and the backtrace is run.

A few ideas:
Does disabling the overlay help?  (bug 22053 )
Does Fedora 17 have an old prelink? (bug 30862 )
Does "WINEDEBUG=warn+heap," show an earlier problem?
Does 'winetricks winhttp' change anything?

I'm suspecting Fedora 17's prelink; on IRC,
