Downloaded the Windows installer for the FitBit FLEX from
http://www.fitbit.com/start and tried to install it several times.

backtrace from failed install

I tried to install this today. Saved the output from the failed install. The
application installs and runs, but fails to start the "Fitbit Connect service".

you're using an outdated Wine version:

The service doesn't crash for me.
There is a repeated output of following message in console due to
SetNamedPipeHandleState() being a stub:

Hello folks,

again ... people keep posting backtraces for ancient Wine versions - this is
pointless.
Please update your Wine to _recent_ version (preferably 1.7.x)!

The installer doesnt have any issues, since I have the program running here.
