This code should be rendered as a document

Using wine 1.7.16. RTF code does not render as a document. It just displays the
RTF code.

What's a program name? Is there a downloadable demo of it? Don't forget to set
your wine version when reporting a bug. Did you verify that native riched20
helps?

QuikEC3, you can get a 30 day free trail:

Playing around with riched20.dll didn't help. It's not displayed as a
dependency in DependencyWalker and the program starts even if I remove that
dll.

Does overriding riched20 via winecfg fix the issue? If so, please set the
component field as richedit. So the bug can be searched via component.
