I am used to the shortcut "Alt+Tab" with the effect of switching between
application windows. This is usually also supported in X sessions (like KDE or
GNOME). But it does not work if the game "Civilization 4" was started in full
screen mode.

How much has this behaviour got to do with an option "Managed windows using
X11"?

What do you mean? Did you disable that option?

This option was mentioned in a comment for the issue "EVE Online hangs on focus
restore after applying Empryan Age 1.1.1 patch".

I have not changed its setting since the game installation. Are there more
dependencies to consider for proper reactions on the shortcut "Alt+Tab"?

That comments states that pressing Alt+Tab leads to a crash, not that
switching to another window doesn't work. If you can't switch to another
window report that to your WM developers, Wine doesn't control that.

Also, what does "check" in the bug summary mean?

I get the expected reaction for the shortcut "Alt+Tab" from the Notepad editor.
How can be further checked which details work differently in window switching
for the game "Civilization 4"?

Is there a need to adjust the bug summary?

Yes, the switching between application windows does still not work as expected.

I can Alt+tab following this steps under KDE:

1. Alt+F3 to show the window menu.
2. Deactivate the option under Advanced -> Keep above others

If you use gnome as desktop. play CIV on other workspace and use Ctrl+alt+
right arrow key to change workspace...

Please retest with a recent version of Wine. Fullscreen Alt-Tab handling was
improved a lot in Wine 1.7.32.

Still happens for me with Wine 2.21 on Kubuntu 18.04 with Nvidia proprietary
driver.

Just tested with Wine 6.15 on OpenSuse Tumbleweed and using Proprietary Nvidia
drivers. Not seeing this issue.

Tested on Wine 7.2, KDE 5.24.3, NVIDIA 340xx, "Managed windows using X11"
checked, and I also don't see this issue. Please close as RESOLVED FIXED.
