Downloaded Wine 1.4 tried to run on Ubuntu Release 12.04 (precise) 32-bit (Kernel Linux 3.2.0-27-generic-pae with GNOME 3.4.1) but it does not run instead gives error message. Then tried Wine 1.5, but get same error (see attached error message).

What app were you trying to run? Does this happen with a clean .wine directory?
That log looks suspicious: Unhandled exception: unimplemented function comdlg32.dll.GetSaveFileNameW called in 32-bit code (0x7b839fc2). ... Wine build: wine-1.5.8
Wine-1.5.8 definitely implements comdlg32.dll.GetSaveFileNameW.

Wine 1.4 and Wine 1.5 just won't run on Ubuntu. Thus not trying to run any app, just opening Wine to configure it...but can't because it crashes.
