Hi,
When trying to enter the options -> controllers screen whilst having my non-force feedback sidewinder steering wheel plugged in the game freezes.
Steering wheel is working according to jcalibrator.

I tried Need for speed III with:
* Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback Wheel (USB)
* Logitech WingMan Formula Force GP (USB)
and could not reproduce this bugreport in wine-1.1.24. I wanted to play with regression tests so tried wine-0.9.58, but it also worked for me.
The wheel was always plugged in before game start and i could normally traverse menu options -> controllers and items like "force feedback" and "dead zones". All the tests were done with only one plugged wheel at the time.

Well i searched packages for "pulse" on my Debian Lenny and only thing i found is "libpulse0". Package pulseaudio not installed.
The instruction at 0x004a3aec referenced memory at 0x00000190. The memory could not be read.
Are you using pulseaudio?
When i run this game with Win95/98/XP setting i always have following console lines, but despite of that the game runs normally :)

No such problem 3 years ago, no such problem now under wine-1.5.4. No response from OR.
