--- Comment #2 from Piotr riklaunim@gmail.com 2007-08-24 14:23:28 --- using Launcher.exe and full screen mode it works - I get the game menu but the game isn't very responsive... I guess that it uses 100% CPU (fan going crazy). On windowed mode (set in Launcher.exe) it doesn't load - error messages in attachment.

--- Comment #12 from Stefano Guidoni s.guidoni@tin.it 2009-03-10 10:55:24 --- I solved this issue patching Revenant to version 1.22. Revenant v1.00 crashed hopelessly for me.

--- Comment #14 from Stefano Guidoni s.guidoni@tin.it 2009-12-10 12:22:06 --- Yes, it still needs to be patched to version 1.22 to work. (wine 1.1.34)

--- Comment #15 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2010-12-20 21:02:10 CST --- With the demo and wine-1.3.9-210-g8bcc61f, in full screen mode, game runs fine. In windowed mode, it complains that it wants 16-bit mode.
I see the same results in 1.1.33, so I suppose someone with the full version of the game will need to test.
Ideally, they should try it on a modern windows system as well, it may be a game bug...

--- Comment #18 from Stefano Guidoni s.guidoni@tin.it 2011-11-11 12:12:33 CST --- It's a copy protection problem. Revenant copy protection is only for win9x: it works badly on XP and it doesn't work on Vista. However Revenant runs on wine if you apply the unsupported 1.22 patch and then the 1.22 fixed exe (that is without copy protection). Search for Revenant on Windows Vista for reference.

--- Comment #19 from Stefano Guidoni s.guidoni@tin.it 2011-11-11 12:14:37 CST --- Sorry for the double post, I forgot to say that Revenant used to work without the fixed executable on older versions of wine, but not anymore.

You have to set WinVer to "Windows 2000" to have the SafeDisc 1.x driver to work.

Indee, I tried XP and 98, I didn't bother to try 2000. Now that I tried it the game works =)
