Does the game work if you run winecfg, and select "emulate a virtual desktop"
under the graphics tab?

No. It doesn't work with virtual desktop turned on.

Works ok for me with Wine 1.1.11, reporter can you please retest?

Unfortunately I can't retest it within the same box I reported issue (there was
a box with some of integrated Intel GPUs). But right now I can confirm that it
works on both my nvidia and i965 machines.
