Summary: Ubuntu 8.10 + Wine 1.1.10 + WoW (WotLK) 3.0.3.9183 hard locks X Product: Wine Version: 1.1.10 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: opengl AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: steve@orcldba.com
Created an attachment (id=18198) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=18198) Config.wtf for WoW
When I enter WoW sometimes the Wine screen will freeze when the Login button is clicked. This isn't common and can simply be fixed by killing WoW and trying again.
However, when I choose a character and try to get in the game, it loads and then crashes. The crash is not just WoW, but my entire environment. CTRL+ALT+Backspace doesn't help, nothing does except for restarting.
When this happens, the screen alternates between fuzzy characters and a blank X window with the X cursor.
This probably is just a coincidence, but this seems to happen whenever I'm flying near Alliance PvP areas (I'm Horde on a PVP server). It first happened when flying over The Overlook in Hellfire while it was Ally owned. When I flew over Halaa in Nagrand while Ally owned, it crashed and now every time I try to log in it crashes immediately (no time to try to get out). Again, probably a coincidence, but still pretty odd.
I'm attaching shots of my screen (sorry about the iPhone reflection), my Config.wtf file, Xorg.conf, and a snippet of my syslog.
The primary error I'm receiving is this:
Dec 26 11:40:28 steve-ubuntu kernel: [ 3135.559480] Xorg[9852]: segfault at 48 ip b7ab835c sp bffd52e0 error 4 in libdri.so[b7ab3000+8000] Dec 26 11:40:28 steve-ubuntu gdm[9847]: WARNING: gdm_slave_xioerror_handler: Fatal X error - Restarting :0
I've tried disabling DRI but it can't even run the game.

--- Comment #7 from Steven Karam steve@orcldba.com 2008-12-26 11:51:28 --- This bug seems like it may be unique to Intel drivers with DRI enabled, although this is unconfirmed at this time.
Also sorry for the acronyms, WoW is of course World of Warcraft and WotLK is Wrath of the Lich King (latest release).
