--- Comment #22 from Danila Sentiabov dsent@mail.ru 2008-12-30 08:44:02 --- (In reply to comment #21) Hi, Paul.
sorry to spoil the party, but I am now getting the "Spooge driver not found. Verify that DirectX is properly installed."
Please provide some more info. Particulary, glxinfo output (by the way, what video card do you use?). Execute the following command in terminal window: glxinfo > ~/info.txt then post the resulting info.txt file from your home folder here (as attachment).
I am new to Wine but if you give me instructions on how to find/get/create log files I should be able to copy/paste them here. Otherwise I am not sure on how to give more info.
You can see some instructions in the second comment above: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3276#c2
Hope you can help me, it was the only reason I still had Windows; so I could run DoW...
Unfortunately, to emulate DirectX Wine uses much more complex instructions that result in more strict requirements to video cards. It doesn't necessarily mean that everything will be slower with Wine on the same video card, but it often means that on older card nothing will work at all. If the problem is here, the only answer will probably be "get-a-newer-video-card" one.
