Summary: TntMPD: Downloading financial data from web gives error Product: Wine Version: 1.1.15 Platform: Macintosh OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.5 Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: andrewroth@gmail.com CC: dank@kegel.com, austinenglish@gmail.com, ru.sch@gmx.net
Created an attachment (id=19682) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=19682) darwine 1.1.15 googlecode build -- with ie6
TntMPD has a feature where you can connect to a web service and download all donations for your account into TntMPD. Click the "Gift Input" button. This is one of the most useful features of TntMPD in my opinion.
This feature gives an runtime error in TntMPD. There is no obvious module that is at fault, as far as I can tell, but maybe someone with more experience with Wine can specify a module.
I'm on a mac and ran three tests:
1) http://darwine-builds.googlecode.com/files/Darwine-x86-1.1.15.dmg build, with ie6 installed using winetricks.
relevant files: screen1.png, tntmsg1 (the text of the debug info TntMPD gives), trace1 (wine's output), winecfg_libraries_1a.png and 1b.png (screenshot of winecfg Libraries tab)
2) same build as 1), but without ie6
relevant files: screen2.png, tntmsg2, trace2, winecfg2.png,
3) macports wine-devel 1.1.15, without ie6. I notice this doesn't have an error about wininet missing libssl.0.9.7.dylib on the output, but it still gives an error in TntMPD.
relevant files: same as 2), plus trace2_macports_devel

I also tried various native libraries, with no success. wininet.dll, iertutil.dll, normaliz.dll (the last two were because wininet printed a message saying they were required but missing)

--- Comment #11 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2009-02-27 01:25:36 --- With that many native dlls this bug is invalid. Unless explicitly told to use winetricks here any bug that starts with "installed x,y,z with winetricks" is invalid.

From the logs: Could not load Mozilla. HTML rendering will be disabled.
You didn't properly installed wine_gecko.

--- Comment #13 from Andrew Roth andrewroth@gmail.com 2009-02-27 01:52:40 --- what about mdac28 and jet40? On #14907 nobody seemed to object to those being installed using winetricks.
that leaves mssign32, mapi32 and riched20 - are you sure those would affect the function of downloading data from a service? it seems unlikely.
very well, I will not include images in my next bug report
I will also make bug reports for mapi32, mssign32 and riched being required for install

HTML rendering is irrelevant to downloading financial data. Earlier tests with gecko made no difference.

err:wininet:NETCON_init failed to load symbol i2d_X509
This means that all https connections will fail. This API is supported in all versions of openssl according to the manual, you should investigate why it's not exported in your build.

Wine doesn't provide those, so that should be fine.
