Summary: Vim welcome text does not appear on start [dogfood] Product: Wine Version: 1.1.28 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: thomas.heckel@gmx.net
When starting gVim a grey area is displayed instead of white text input field with vim "welcome text". Also the title of the window is "VIM" instead of "[No Name] - GVIM". After pressing key "i" to enter vim's input mode, the text input field goes white and the "welcome text" appears.

--- Comment #1 from Andreas Hermann Braml andreas@braml.org 2009-08-23 20:14:41 --- Checked this with gvim72.exe on Wine 1.2.28.
I can confirm the "[No Name] - GVIM" in the window title. I can confirm the grey area instead of the welcome text. When pressing ENTER - as suggested by the text in the bottom field - the input field goes to "white backround with text on it".
What is the behaviour of GVIM on Microsoft's implementation of Windows?

Checked this with gvim72.exe on Wine 1.2.28.

What is the behaviour of GVIM on Microsoft's implementation of Windows?
On Windows the welcome text appears instantly on start. Pressing ENTER not necessary.
