I am running wine 1.49~1.50 on Debian and often when I run an application
inside vitual desktop a X11 window is created for the application rather than
the application showing on the virtual desktop.

I use the virtual desktop to avoid breakage with applications that do not work
well with window resizing. This breaks such applications.

The wine prefix is quite fresh because wine refused to use the old prefix so I
rebuilt it.

I am using vcrun2005.

hmm, it seems this is because I managed to install different parts of wine in
different version. The joys of packaged software

hmm, it actualy happens with properly installed wine too. Just not as often.

I believe we already have a bug about this but I could not find it now. I have
sometimes this issue but it's a in a proportion of 100 good virtual desktop
starts to 1 application escaping it.

The proportion is much worse for me. I stopped using virtual desktop.
