Program "The Word" http://theword.net/ worked fine using the older Wine 1.2. 
Since upgrading to Wine 1.3.5, the program crashes within a second or two of
starting.

The program (and wine) continues to stay in memory till killed in System
Monitor.

Please close.  I had been using a specific configuration setting the windows
version to WinXP or earlier.  None of that worked.  By chance, I got desperate
and tried setting the windows version to 2008.  It worked.

Can you clarify what Wine version do you have? "wine-1.3.35" is not the same as
"wine-1.3.5".

Yes, it was wine-1.3.35.  I missed a number in there.

Works fine in wine-1.3.35-147-gb433f1c with default winecfg settigns here.
