when installing MC12 (via setup.exe)

a CRC error is encountered.  On pressing 'retry', the installer continues
through to completion with no further errors

Hello Graial,

I can't reproduce this, the installation works fine here with Wine 6.0 and 6.3.

Please avoid using two-letter-shortver appname in bug report summaries because
it makes searching for existing/similar bugs of the same application / vendor
harder.

Alternatives, combining one or both:

* 'Microcap 12 <short problem description>'
* 'Microcap 12 (MC12) <short problem description>'
* 'Micro-Cap 12 <short problem description>'
* 'Micro-Cap 12 (MC12) <short problem description>'

Always provide a download link. If the download doesn't have an exact version
in the filename (being unique), the date of the download matters and has to be
provided. In this case there were multiple 'Microcap 12' releases since 2019:

In your logs (comment #2) please don't use 'WINEDEBUG=warn'. Trace messages a
la 'warn:file:NtCreateFile' are misleading and useless at best. Only pure
console output. WINEDEBUG traces only when explicitly asked for.
