The bug is similar in appearance to bug #57189 but it is caused by a different
commit and is not fixed unlike 57189.
The game screen is distorted and doesn't fill the screen properly.
Occurs both in fullscreen and virtual desktop mode.

The commit causing the problem:
commit 4c15acf234a575b7b054016e2a0099202885d87f
winex11: Detach offscreen OpenGL windows after creation.

Plain terminal output doesn't show anything relevant.
You can reproduce the bug in the Steam version or with the original demo
version released in 1997:

Dear Rémi Bernon,

I tried the patch with the following versions of the game:
original demo version
GOG.com (v1.02 game version)
Steam (v1.04 game version)

The reported problem with the size of the screen is fixed in all of them, thank
you so much.
However there is something wrong with the patch that makes the mouse pointer
stuck (not moving) in the main menu in the demo and the GOG version of the
game. This doesn't occur with the Steam version. Would you mind trying the demo
with MR6520 applied to see if you can reproduce that?

The problem with mouse pointer in the demo and GOG version is also fixed in
wine-9.17-234-gd91049975a6, thanks to commit
ce53cf6f1de47ab23a794930a2b66438e6c930a9.
