A// It's no in my home, it's just a symbolic link to the directory in the windows directory structure: C:\Program Files\Diablo II, also it was installed in Windows(Vista btw) and i'm trying to running in OpenSUSE, which worked to some extends when i do the same using a Ubuntu distro(Jaunty i think).

I can't confirm this bug report. Diablo 2 LoD works perfectly here. Tested on 1.1.35 and current git (1.1.35-364-g9dc584d). Diablo v1.12
Everything works: running, intro movie, single player, multiplayer (battle net)
The problem here will be, that you did not install it under wine. Try to install it under wine or at least double check your mount options (can you write on such partition? savegame/temp files etc.).
Also you can check for tips here: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=315
and last... Always try to create link between AppDB and your bug report.

This is not supported and likely the cause of the crash. As Wylda suggested, install it in Wine.
Resolving invalid.

But i did the same under Ubuntu Jaunty: i installed Diablo 2 LOD under windows xp back then and then i just run it under Linux and it worked.

--- Comment #9 from Saija julborre@gmail.com 2010-01-02 16:20:14 --- Hi I just want to let you know the simply by copying the install directory of Diablo II LOD from Windows Vista to the drive_c directory of Wine in OpenSUSE i was able to run the game, just as Wylda said.
Thank you for your time.
