Bug ID: 41464 Summary: Quake live sound latency Product: Wine Version: 1.9.19 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-dsound Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: cosiekvfj@o2.pl Distribution: ---
Hi. I measured sound latency(from fire button to gauntlet noise)(audacity) and it's about >160ms. For that fast paced game it's to much. Even after tweaking s_mixprestep and alsa buffer it's still to much.

--- Comment #1 from winetest@luukku.com --- Wine has also pulseaudio support ( I dont know what that means in practice). It's worth to try if you get any better latency with pulseaudio.

--- Comment #6 from mirh mirh@protonmail.ch --- https://old.reddit.com/r/osugame/comments/eiq71u/linux_lutris_low_latency_os... https://gist.github.com/Francesco149/a2f796683a4e5195458f4bb171d88eb0 People in osu! seems fine with latency (audio compatibility mode should be using directsound I think?) so I'm skeptical this is still a thing.
