Summary: The Chronicles of RiddicK check boxes not visible Product: Wine Version: 0.9.49. Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-gui AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: sexy_b14@hotmail.com
Created an attachment (id=9267) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=9267) log1
This is a different one.
When installing The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, when the installer gets to choose components the check box's are not visible, but you can get them to become visible.
1. Remove your .wine dir
2. cd in to the install dir and wine setup.exe (wine will make its dir stuff see log1)
3. The installer loads up fine and the check boxes are visible and you can start installing the game but because you have not setup you cdrom drive in winecfg you carn't use wine eject so you are unable to continue with the install. (see pic one)
4. Run winecfg and map you cdrom drive
5. Run the setup agane and now the check boxes are no longer visible. (see pic two and log2)
Because now the check boxes are no longer visible the installer wont install anything and tells you that the install is complete.
Thanks guys

Different from what?
So what are these "log1", "pic one", "log 2", "pic two"? What you ran out of words to explain? Please put proper descriptions for those files.

--- Comment #6 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2007-11-21 22:45:52 --- Thanks for clarification.
And when you tried it the second time, have you removed ~/.wine directory, mapped cdrom and ran 'wine setup.exe'? Also note that this command still won't work for you if you want to unmount cdrom. The easiest way is to map cdrom (if not automatically mapped by Wine) then run: cd ~ winefile d:\
(where "d" is the driver where cdrom is mapped to). Then double-click on the setup.exe

--- Comment #7 from spoonie sexy_b14@hotmail.com 2007-11-22 03:33:58 --- Nope. all did was kill the install buy the cancel button from with in th install. Then fired up winecfg and maped my cdrom drive because it wont self map on my system, closed winecfg, then started the installer agane from the same shell. Tryed starting the install in a new shell but still the same. This was all done from a fresh .wine dir the only thing that was changed was mapping the cdrom drive.
Ill give it a try and report back mapping the drive via winefile d:\ instead of using winecfg
thanks, keep up the good work.

You did not understood. Read again what I asked. Also refer to FAQ.
So far I do not see any problems with Wine, except user errors. This is bugzilla - place to report Wine bugs. Not user problems.
