--- Comment #4 from JOHNEY HARMONMIXER@YAHOO.COM 2012-01-24 17:38:55 CST --- SORRY I DO NOT HAVE A RELIABLE CONNECTION TO THE INTERNET AND CERTIANLY WAS NOT EXPECTING SUCH A PROMPT RESPONSE. THANK YOU FOR SUCH. I AM USING A TOSHIBA SATELLITE L505D-S5965 RUNNING THE "STABLE" VERSION OF WINE. I THINK IT WAS 1.2.2 I AM USING LUCID UBUNTU (10.4?) AND I WILL ALSO NOTE THAT AFTER INSTALLING A LOAD OF APPS SUCH AS THE ESCALATED PRIVELAGE MANAGER WITH A NOTE TO "NINJA" MY WHOLE SYSTEM CRASHED AND I HAD TO DO A FULL RESTORE. THE WINE ISSUES I ORIGINALLY HAD WERE ON A PRACTICALLY VIRGIN SYSTEM. ONLY THE WINE, A COUPLE SAFE APPS AND A FEW OTHER ITEMS OF LITTLE SIGNIFICANCE. I DID DOWNLOAD THE DUMMY VERSION FIRST THEN THE COMPATTIBILITY LAYER LATER....OTHERWISE IM NOT SURE WHAT YOU NEED ME TO TELL YOU.... THE BLACKBERRY DESKTOP APP WAS THE LATEST VERSION <6.5 I THINK> AND IS FREELY DISTRIBUTED ON THEIR SITE. I WOULD ALSO NOT THAT I DID TRY TO RUN A OLDER SAFE VERSION OF PROJECT 64 AN N64 EMULATOR AND IT IMMEDIATELY LOCKED UP MY WHOLE SYSTEM AND REFUSED ANY INPUT TO EXIT WHATSOEVER I HAD TO DO A HARD RESET AND REPAIR MY HARDDISK....

--- Comment #5 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2012-01-24 18:14:49 CST --- Not a valid bug report.
The software is unlikely to work anyway, since it communicates over USB and likely installs a device driver..

--- Comment #7 from JOHNEY HARMONMIXER@YAHOO.COM 2012-01-25 10:54:06 CST --- NO THE BLACKBERRRY DEVICE DOES NOT INSTALL SPECIFIC DRIVERS I CAN USE IT AS A GENERIC MASS STORAGE DEVICE BUT THE REASON I NEED THE DESKTOP IS TO BE ABLE TO DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL FIRMWARE UPDATES AND TO USE IT FOR A TETHERED CONNECTION.... I AM QUITE PUT OFF BY THE APPROACH YOU HAVE MADE AND I BELIEVE I WILL GO THE FULL ROUT AND LOAD VIRTUAL COUNSOL TO TRY THAT WAY.....

Please turn off CAPS LOCK.
It does attempt to install device drivers, at least USB drivers, in my quick look. On that note, how do you expect it to do tethering, without drivers?
If you want to play with it more, it needs at least .NET 2/3/3.5 and potentially other stuff. .NET 3/3.5 apps aren't quite up to par in wine yet, so don't expect too much.
Virtualization may work, but in any case, bugzilla is for bugs, not user support. Please use the forums for that.
