Created an attachment (id=31288) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=31288) Pic proof for crzy cpu
I don't know how you can call utorrent 2.0.4 to be gold on Ubuntu 10.04.1. I'm fed up with this bug and doesn't seem to being fixed or reported! It's not the first time it happen to be which I though by formating my ubuntu 3 times, it might fix by itself but doesn't. Before, I had the wine version without the ppa which I hoped was designed to run 'gold' on ubuntu 10.04.1. with wine 1.1.42ish with utorrent 1.8.5. It was working 'gold' for solid 3 or 5 months.. no cpu issue or anything. It was actually gold.
But recently, the doomsday for ubuntu has returned for me. It's back up 100cpu. I read in a forum to update my version. I first updated utorrent to the latest one [non-beta] 2.0.4. It worked fine for the first week or but return to the retarded state.. 100cpu for no reason.
I updated my wine using the ppa.. it sometime works fine but sooner or later..back to 100cpu..
what's the prob?? Check the pic for proof!

--- Comment #2 from Andrew Nguyen arethusa26@gmail.com 2010-10-16 01:23:24 CDT --- The severity isn't critical; see http://bugs.winehq.org/page.cgi?id=fields.html#importance for correct usage. For what it's worth, I don't see this problem in wine-1.3.5. Attaching debug output as per http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log would be a start.

--- Comment #3 from sir508@gmail.com sir508@gmail.com 2010-10-16 01:46:27 CDT --- I think the problem could be my ulimit-n which is to low for 700 torrents... I'll post after I'm able to change it because it's being a nightmare for me!

--- Comment #5 from sir508@gmail.com sir508@gmail.com 2010-10-16 23:57:07 CDT --- Here is the log which was created and it ended with the 100 percent cpu. Thing to note is that intially, it was doing fine which confused me [3 cpu]. I waited and kept my eye on uTorrent.exe cpu usage. When it struck 100cpu and stayed there, I left it to run like to to capture the maximum data possible. After I though it ran long enough, I decided to exit the application the normal way, simple right click on the tray icon and exit. Though it didn't quite quit the application, I had to sudo killall -9 uTorrent.exe to finish the job.
Below is the 'Terminal' logs/message from start to kill
[check attachment 'terminal log']
I went further created the back trace log but its wayyy tooo big 1.2gig!!!!

I think this is the same data recorded in the &>log.txt command because the command to auto record the logs didn't work for me

--- Comment #7 from sir508@gmail.com sir508@gmail.com 2010-10-22 01:16:22 CDT --- I just found out in my utorrent install directory, there are two .exe, uTorrent.exe and utorrent.exe.new.
What I did find out bout utorrent.exe is that it's infected with a virus! while utorrent.exe.new isn't.
After starting up the app using utorrent.exe.new... it's seem to running fine.. meaning the way it suppose to run...
I have no idea how the utorrent.exe got infected....

--- Comment #10 from sir508@gmail.com sir508@gmail.com 2010-10-30 21:22:47 CDT --- I found the problem, it was my utorrent.exe being infected with worm32 something. Simple had to download a new setup and run it and moving the previous infected exe into trash-delete. The thing I don't get is how is the exe being infected with a windows virus?
