Hello there, not a tech-savy guy, but i wanted to report this, happens that
dozens of people on youtube never found answers to this one ..

Using a macbook (2007) in 10.7.5, i need wineskin to launch steam, which in
itself works.

But soon after i get a "steamwebhelper" error, and in steam itself the shop
doesn't work AND most of all, i can't download games, getting a "content server
unreachable" (dunno if that's how it's spelled in english but i think you'll
understand what i mean.

I have no idea if there's a better alternative, i'm kinda new on a mac.

The Wineskin folks need to build Wine against libgnutls and to ship libgnutls,
too.  You should file a bug with the Wineskin project.

For that matter, Wine's packagers need to do so, as well.  That's bug 45714.

Just a plug, since I work for CodeWeavers: CrossOver is built against and ships
libgnutls which fixes this bug.

So i should try crossover..?

On a site it seems you need to buy it, but i'm not really interested in buying
anything for the use of that old macbook, it's the only alternative..?

I think they have a demo.

The alternative is to wait for wine's (free) packages to ship it (bug 45714),
wait for wineskin to fix it, or build wine yourself, and be sure to build with
libgnutls support.

Actually, on thinking about it, CrossOver doesn't support your OS version. So,
never mind that part.
