I was able to play reasonably until the last city of villains update.
Now I freeze on the load screen and no error log is generated.

Using Wine 1.1.43
Nvidia Gforce 9600 GSO

The contact that causes the pbuffer error is "Golden Roller".

But these are secondary problems to me now because after issue #17 I can't log
in at all.
NOW before issue #17 I could log in on some toons and not others and if I got
in I would be rubberbanding...the "/sync" command dosen't work.
The toons I couldn't log into would also cause the "pbuffer" error.

Your bug report isn't clear, but it sounds like you may have encountered bug
#10081.  Could you check that bug report to see if what you're experiencing is
the same thing?

No update for over 900 days. Is this still and issue in 1.5.31 or higher or is
this  abandoned ?

The original report is probably a duplicate of bug #10081.  Comment #1 is
probably a mix of bug #10080 and bug #13718.
