Bug ID: 49816 Summary: Streamlabs OBS fails to start Product: Wine Version: 5.16 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: ldhacker@live.com Distribution: ---
When trying to open Streamlabs OBS (https://streamlabs.com/) it seems like nothing happens. The loading spinner spins for a few seconds then stops.
When clicking Streamlabs OBS.exe to try and run it again, a window pops up saying that Streamlabs encountered an issue.
Log.txt shows what happens when I try to open it the first time.
Log2.txt shows what happens the second time.

After a few secs an error window shows up, seems apparently related to d3dcompiler.
There`s something strange going on, at least on my side. The app ships it`s own d3dcompiler_47, but wine doesn`t want to load it. When I set it to native I get: 00b0:err:module:import_dll Library d3dcompiler_47.dll (which is needed by L"C:\windows\system32\d3d10.dll") not found
This is not how it used to work AFAICT. I have to copy it to system32 to get it picked up. Is this a regression?
Anyway, with native d3dcompiler_47 it loads a bit longer, but then exits. When I set msvcp140 to native too, it keeps loading forever, but maybe one has to have a camera (????) to get the program going?

I don't think you normally have to have the camera on for it to start.
I have never used this specific software because it doesn't support linux, but I know that it is based on OBS Studio https://obsproject.com/ which does have a linux version.

--- Comment #8 from ldhacker@live.com --- I use OBS Studio at the moment, but would like to use streamlabs OBS because it has more features.
