I chowned it to <username>:disk, and what do you know, it started working
Then this bug is invalid.
not comfortable with having the user with full write access to the raw disks
The user only needs read access, same as with a mounted physical cdrom.
I do however feel that using winecfg to set up the d: symlink is a
bit...cheating for a console-nerd like me
Well, for being a console nerd, you didn't set it up right. There's more to it than just setting up a symlink.
