Summary: Mouse does not turn character in Far Cry Product: Wine Version: 0.9.51. Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-directx-dinput AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: smackdat1@gmail.com
Moving the mouse around doesn't turn the character, however, you are able to navigate menus with it. This makes Far Cry unplayable.

Also attach output with WINEDEBUG=+dinput

--- Comment #2 from Ari Torhamo ari.torhamo@gmail.com 2007-12-31 21:17:07 --- I'm not sure if this is related, but when a similar problem occurs in Windows, you can get rid of it by going to Options -> Controls -> and choose "Reset to defaults" (or something like this - I can't start Far Cry right now).

--- Comment #3 from jim jimportal@gmail.com 2008-01-16 02:25:54 --- Created an attachment (id=10294) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=10294) WINEDEBUG=+dinput FarCry 1.4 on Wine-0.9.53
This is the console output from Wine-0.9.53 and FarCry 1.4 with WINEDEBUG=+dinput set. The text file is 4.7 MB so it's gzipped to meet Bugzilla attachment size limitations.
Test was done under OpenSuse 10.3 x86_64, 2.6.22.13-0.3-default, X.Org 7.2
The game was launched, mouse cursor was used to load a saved game. Keyboard control worked fine, as well as using the mouse cursor in menu screens. However when you go to play the game you cannot "look around" using your mouse.
An interesting line from the output (maybe?):
fixme:dinput:SysMouseAImpl_Acquire Clipping cursor to (0,0)-(1920,1200)

--- Comment #5 from Joseph Kogut gentiradentes@gmail.com 2008-02-18 13:06:25 --- This bug is not a Wine issue. It is a common bug with the game encountered even in Windows. The solution to this problem is resetting the game controls in the options.
