--- Comment #8 from vmustin@gmail.com --- Hi Joaopa, to be honest I don't know how install and configure Guitar Pro in in a fresh wine prefix with the latest wine (wine-9.0-RC3). My only experiences in Wine are (a) to install Wine in the last stable Version 8.0.1 and (b) to install Guitar Pro 8.1.1 via PlayOnLinux with reference to Wine from system. As far as I have understood wine-9.0-RC3 is the development version with currently no binary available. So I don't know how to create the binary and a fresh wine prefix with it. That's a number too high for me.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56085
--- Comment #9 from vmustin@gmail.com --- In the meantime, I have installed the current version 8.1.1 Build 17 of Guitar Pro with the trial version of Crossover and tested the "Design function". The result is that the same error occurs with crossover as under Wine 8.0.1. I then uninstalled crossover again, and I am still looking for a solution with Wine.
Shall I still try in a fresh wine prefix with the latest wine, which currently is wine-9.0-RC3?

Actually the same problem happened in Wine 9.0 with latest version of Guitar pro 9.1.1 build 17.

I guess you did a type mismatch. Guitar Pro 8.1.1 Build 17 is still the latest Version. Theresa is no version 9.1.1
Version 8.1.1 still runs perfekt well with Wine 9.0 stable version.

--- Comment #15 from Louis Lenders xerox.xerox2000x@gmail.com --- Hi, it would be handy that if there's a trial, that you include downloadlink
I too get the crash, these are last lines before crash: 0024:Ret gdi32.GetFontData() retval=00000b19 ret=6ffff4737cbe 0024:Call gdi32.GetOutlineTextMetricsW(0341005a,00000000,00000000) ret=6ffff4737628 0024:Ret gdi32.GetOutlineTextMetricsW() retval=00000000 ret=6ffff4737628 0024:Call gdi32.GetOutlineTextMetricsW(0341005a,00000000,7f35fde61f10) ret=6ffff4737643 0024:Ret gdi32.GetOutlineTextMetricsW() retval=00000000 ret=6ffff4737643

Also in the console before : 0024:fixme:font:get_nearest_charset returning DEFAULT_CHARSET face->fs.fsCsb[0] = 00000000 file = L"\??\Z:\usr\share\fonts\truetype\noto\NotoKufiArabic-Regular.ttf"
For fun I moved away /usr/share/fonts/truetype/noto/ (use at own risk!) and then the crash is gone. Also running like 'wine GuitarPro.exe -platform windows:fontengine=freetype' seems to work around the crash.
No idea what goes wrong but it has something to do with the font stuff

--- Comment #16 from winehb bence.h@gmail.com --- Thanks for the font directory tip, I will check the font directory.
Fun fact: today I tried again, and it worked. No crash. I did not change anything, no idea what is different than yesterday.
Then I tried a fresh installation of ubuntu with wine+guitar pro. For the first time guitar pro crashed when clicking the desgin button. Then started again, clicked the design button again, and it worked. No crash. No idea what's going on, but now it is working.

--- Comment #17 from vmustin@gmail.com --- Today I have installed Wine 9.0 stable version and afterwards Guitar Pro 8.1.1 Build 17. Same error occurs -> App craches once hitting design function.
