In Microsoft Office/Word 2003, symbols inserted from the Bullets & Numbering
menu (i.e. bullets) are displayed incorrectly.

Screenshots of the problem

The bullets have most definately improved. Now the middle tab looks fine. The
first and third ones still look garbled.

In the 0.9.56 version I was running prior to this, they were much uglier
symbols. The default one used to look like a T with a ' on top...weird

It's getting better, but not quite fixed. In 1.0-rc1 only the outline numbered
tab is affected. But shouldn't the severity of this problem be trivial? It's
only the dialog box that's garbled--what's inserted into the document displays
correctly.

Spanish Microsoft Word 2003 running on Ubuntu 8.04 & Wine 1.0. Bullets and
Numbering dialog.

Microsoft Office's Word 2003 running under Wine 1.0 in Ubuntu 8.04 displays
incorrect symbols both in "Bullets and Numbering" dialog and into the document.

bullets/numbering dialog in 1.1.11 with symbol.ttf installed

This is not a duplicate of bug 14964, at least not entirely.

I have symbol.ttf installed systemwide, and still experience a garbled display
in the outline numbered tab of the bullets & numbering dialog, though the
bullets tab displays just fine (see screenshot). Outline numbering does not use
the symbol font at all. The problem is only in the dialog box--outline
numbering displays fine in documents.

Should I open a new bug for this?
