Wine error notification

Wine configuration locks when Audio tab selected. Repeatedly creates winedbg
instances.
Fedora Kernel 2.6.30.5.43.fc11.x86_64
Using Alsa realtek snapshot www.alsa-project.org.      ver:3.3-4

Running via Gnome GUI.Unable to install app 'Quicken' setup.exe. Also serching
for apps results in 'serious' error warning. I have Akmod nVidia loaded. Using
Wine x86_64 via fedora package installer, which has installed v1.1.29 and
dependencies.
Earlier Wine version i586 worked with my configuration, but without drive

installation of Quicken 98 setup.exe via terminal from removable media

Ran wine Quicken setup from terminal and got as far as screen splash and
installation appears complete. But does not run from desktop icon as yet.

This bug is for an audio configuration crash. How is this related? File
separate bugs for separate problems.

Because, all errors stem from the configuration window. Without the
configuration window and using terminal, the installation is partial
successful. i.e I can run the 'Quicken' app' but cannot configure sound or
drives from wine configuration without winedbg going into an endless loop.

I am having a similar problem with wine configuration. (See first comment)

I am attaching the output from running winecfg in a in a terminal. The message
"ALSA lib seq_hw.c:457:(snd_seq_hw_open) open /dev/snd/seq failed: No such file
or directory" occurs when winecfg starts. The remaining message occur after the
audio tab is pressed.

I'm experiencing this bug.
When i navigate to "Sound" in winedbg crash occurs.
I attached log from terminal.

I was able to resolve the initial error "ALSA lib
seq_hw.c:457:(snd_seq_hw_open) open /dev/snd/seq failed: No such file or

However, I still get the message "wine: Unhandled page fault on write access to
0x81ccd510 at address 0x34a08826e3 (thread 0009), starting debugger..." when I
click on the Audio tab.

Then when I click on the Program Error Close button, it coes into a look with
message "wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000028 at address
0x7fa633481057 (thread 001c), starting debugger..."

Isn't this the problem?  You've started using 64bit Wine instead of 32bit?

Yes this is wine-64. FC11 has both wine-32 & wine-64 packaged and installed by
default.

post, it seems to install both the 32 bit and the 64 bit versions.

This begs the question, should we unisntall wine and reinstall only the 32 bit
version?

This would be acceptable to me, since I only want to run windoes 32 bit
software.

I'm running Fedora 12 64-bit.

I uninstalled x86_64 wine and installed i686 wine. Solved my problem. But it
should work on 64-bit also.
