Summary: Wine fails to start Product: Wine Version: unspecified Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: critical Priority: P2 Component: wine-kernel AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: vic.demuth@btinternet.com
Ever since wine version 20040505, I have been unable to carry out any upgrades. Every release since gives this exact same error.
wine: failed to initialize: /usr/lib/wine/ntdll.dll.so: failed to map segment from shared object: Cannot allocate memory
I have tried this on 5 different PC's, all with varying architecture, but all running Slackware 10.1 with kernel 2.6.11, and GCC 3.3.4
