Summary: Adobe Acrobat Pro 6 -- File Open should default to a more logical location Product: Wine Version: 0.9.59. Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: trivial Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: jens@porup.com
When using File --> Open, Acrobat Pro defaults to the directory:
/home/me/.wine/drive_c/windows/profiles/me/Application Data/AdobeUm/
This is a minor if hardly earth-shattering irritant.
What is interesting, however, is that Adobe Distiller 6.0 (the ps2pdf lookalike that gets bundled with Acrobat Pro) defaults to the "My Documents" folder.
File --> Open should default to a more logical location. (Acrobat Pro's Preferences offers no means of changing this default file open location.)

--- Comment #2 from foobard jens@porup.com 2008-04-15 12:26:14 --- Of course. :)
Opening a file in Acrobat Pro 6 in Windows defaults to Desktop/My Documents.

Just checking ;-).
A +file,+relay,+shell log may give a hint.

--- Comment #4 from foobard jens@porup.com 2008-04-15 21:08:42 --- Created an attachment (id=12227) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=12227) +file,+shell log output
+relay is not an option when debugging Acrobat Pro. Think late 70s batch processing in COBOL. Think the speed of light in a black hole. Think snails on a treadmill. Think... ok, well, anyway you get the idea.
So I ran it with +file,+shell and here's the output.

--- Comment #6 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2008-07-28 16:24:15 --- Can you try again with a clean .wine directory and Wine 1.1.2? Here, it defaults to ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/profiles/username/My Documents.

--- Comment #7 from foobard jens@porup.com 2008-07-28 18:43:18 --- This bug appears to have been corrected, at least in Acrobat Reader 6.01. I cannot confirm that it's been corrected in Acrobat Pro 6, however, as that program will not currently install under wine.

This bug is identical in Acrobat Reader 6.01.
File->Open in Adobe Reader 6.0.1 points to the "My Documents" Directory (redirected to $HOME)
Removing the Reader from the Subject.
