Thanks for the steps to reproduce, but in the future, please use plain .txt files or an open standard...not RTFs.

--- Comment #2 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2009-02-26 11:20:22 --- Is this still an issue in current (1.1.15 or newer) wine?

--- Comment #3 from Robert Griffiths r_griffiths@westnet.com.au 2009-03-03 20:38:36 --- Checking 8.04.1 Hardy with Wine 1.1.15. Situation unchanged. PDF file always saved to user folder irrespective of PAF preferences. Unable to edit file name etc. before saving.
8.10 Intrepid, Wine 1.1.15 still a work in progress. Not fully tested on my system.

--- Comment #5 from Robert Griffiths r_griffiths@westnet.com.au 2009-09-04 01:03:53 --- PAF files can now be read. PAF preferences as to where pdf files is saved are still ignored. If you create a file, there is no option to name it or specify the folder it is to be saved to.

How are you creating these PDF files? If you are printing to CUPS-PDF, that's a limitation of the CUPS-PDF driver, not a Wine issue.

--- Comment #7 from Robert Griffiths r_griffiths@westnet.com.au 2009-09-07 01:58:32 --- Yes! Rosanne, you are correct.
I have tried CUPS-PDF with other applications and get the same result. What's more, I cannot find where they go to. File search on entire system for PDF files cannot find them.

You need a folder in your $HOME directory named 'PDF', they should get created under there.

The default location is actually /var/spool/cups-pdf/yourusername/; I believe Ubuntu changes it to $HOME/PDF in their packages. You can change it to anything you want by editing /etc/cups/cups-pdf.conf.
But getting back to this bug, since the display problems are now reported fixed, and the printing problem is not a Wine bug, shouldn't this bug be marked FIXED?
