i am using ubuntu os and i am trying to install sqlexpress 
but it wasnt installing it says unable to extract the files.
can u please tell the procedure how to install sqlexpress.msi
using wine in ubuntu os.

Are you really using wine 0.9.1? Upgrade to 1.1.16 and retry.

i am using mssql 2005 .still i am getting the same error
that the volume of files cannot be extracted.
can you please suggest me a way to install
sql express on ubuntu os.

i have uninstalled the older version and installed wine 1.16
now when i try to install sqlexpress.msi the files got extracting but the 
set need windowsinstaller.
so again i tried to install windows installer 3.1 then i got this error

Please use bug 12501 for this.
We haven't gotten that installer to work yet on Wine, sorry.

Can you use some other SQL server, e.g. mysql?

the extraction of files happened while installing the sql express 2005.
when setup got run the error message displayed was this.
