a simple picture that causes wordview 2003 to hang.

Wordview hand when open doc file with picture.  I have tested a few cases.  but
the result is quite inconsistent.  I have attached a sample that does not
worked.
I am using openoffice 2.4.1 to create the file and save into .doc format.

By the way, the rationale for this test is to is improve the compatibility of
openoffice using the word view as a validator.

I am using ubuntu 8.04, and Wine 1.1.0.

Doesn't hang for me here with wine from git
unless I run it under valgrind.  When I do, 
it puts up a window with a page outline with corner marks,
and says "doc: 1 characters" on the status bar,
but then sits, using 100% cpu.  Is that what
happens for you?

(Incidentally, valgrind found lots of uninitialized
references to stack variables, but they all
seemed to be in wordview, not wine.)

for me in ubuntu, it screen just went dark and the hour glass remains until I
clicked the "closed" button and it was asked to "Forced quit".

I didn't quite have a chance  and experience to go more details.  What do you
think is the problem based on your observation?

No idea.  Have you tried on a clean .wine directory,
i.e. 
  rm -rf ~/.wine
and reinstall the viewer?

Works fine here in git. Reporter, please retest in current (1.1.12 or newer)
