Civilization 4 installation and patch (1.74) works fine, but when it load it crashes with an "Unhandled page fault on read access" error.
Problem in i915_dri.so?

So that was actually a wine bug related to alsa. I tried once and again and finally Civ loaded. However if you go to winecfg and de-activate alsa, then it never crashes. Just check ALSA.
