While playing Orcs Must Die!, flickering black boxes appear on the edges of many models, including background models that are part of the arena as well as character models. These black boxes rarely stay in place long enough to capture with a screenshot, but I have one that shows two such boxes. They change position as the player moves and animations execute, but the boxes are present in almost every frame.
Tested with 1.1.35 and 962230064d and got identical results. I have never tried to play with earlier versions so I don't know if this is a regression or not.
The attached screenshot shows a black box over the archer's head and the player's elbow. The box on the archer is permanent, the box on the players elbow flickers as movement animations occur.

I tested on Windows and no black boxes. Crossover Games's compatibility database mentions this bug as a "known hardware issue", which I find curious. Again, I don't have the same problem on Windows on the same hardware.

For me I only really noticed them on the arrows being fired by archers, the models of units seemed fine. Even then it wasnt all the time and mostly seemed to be if you were viewing it while the arrow was traveling away from you. Doesn't affect the game in anyway, only a very mild annoyance when very busy.

Indeed. The widely noticeable flickering on backgrounds and models was fixed late in the 1.4 RC cycle. There are still occasional black boxes on things like arrows, but it is much, much less disruptive now.

Wine 1.5.9. Again only with arrows and mostly when viewed behind them traveling away from your character.

This may be hardware / driver specific, actually. I've seen similar issues related to handling infinities and NaNs in other applications. You can't properly diagnose that from just a screenshot, but does the attached hack make any difference?
