Summary: winhelp: Missing << and >> buttons with some help files Product: Wine Version: 1.1.0 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: trivial Priority: P2 Component: programs AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: markk@clara.co.uk
For many help files, the forward and back buttons (<< and >>) are not shown in Wine winhelp. However they do appear with other help files (e.g. pphelp.hlp).
For example, download winehelp_bugs.tar.bz2 from http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=14574 and load castle1.hlp, chess.hlp or emle.hlp into Wine winhelp.

--- Comment #4 from Wolfram Sang wolfram@the-dreams.de 2010-05-24 20:56:29 --- Still present with wine-1.2-rc1-51-gab11102. All non-working helpfiles throw:
err:winhelp:HLPFILE_DoReadHlpFile buf[0x14] = 0
Some old, yet uncovered helpfile-version, it seems.

The above mentioned err is a different issue with WINHELP30 files. I also have a patch for that, but because it doesn't fix a bug and has a slight chance of causing new regressions, I will post it after 1.2 is released.

I don't know if that patch is 100% correct. Since I cant compare against windows. But It does make a difference. Without the patch I cant see << >>, but with the patch they become visible and usable.
wine 1.9.2

Sometime the >>> appears then both <<< and >>> disappear for good after getting clicked.
