Bug ID: 40213 Summary: Problem in PDF-Xchange Editor Product: Wine Version: 1.9.4 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: yousifjkadom@yahoo.com Distribution: ---
Hi. On Linux Mint 17.3 X64 xfce version, I installing WineHQ correctly & by which I installing PDF-XChange Editor version 5.5.316.1 Program work fine but with minor essues:
1) when I select PDF file by right mouse then menu will open. From this menu if I use "open with" then from it I click on "open with PDF-XChange Editor", editor will open but NOT PDF DOCUMENT. I mean PDF will not opened by PDF-XChange, but PDF-XChange will opened as if I double clicking it's icon but no PDF open within it!! This mean to open PDF file by PDF-XChange Editor I have to open program then from "open" in program menu I have to select PDF file.
2) During installation (at end) if I select "create desktop icon", then there will be 2 think will occuring:
- program icon will created - but there will be other streng icon will appear also (gray in color) ended by .ink
3) when select PDF by right click over it, the menu appearing & from "open with" there will appear more than one option to "open with PDF-XChange". One of these 2 if clicked will behave as discribed in (1), while second if clicked will resulting in opening a window say: "do you like to install additional language?". If I click yes there will be error!!

--- Comment #19 from yousifjkadom@yahoo.com --- Hi. I test PDF-XCange Editor on new version of WineHQ (v1.9.5)& I take 18 screen shots. They are as follow:
1:1st window during installation.
2: last windows in installation. Look for RED ARROW that I added. It point to streng icon.
3: what appear by put mouse over "real icon"
4: what appear by put mouse over "streng icon"
5: show what appear when click "open with" from "right click menu" over a PDF. Here there is improvement in comparism with version 1.9.4 of wine: only one option for PDF-XCange in 1.9.5 (while there was 2 options for PDF-XCange in 1.9.4). (improvement)
Note that I select PDF-XCange in screen shot as default PDF program in this step.
6: result of click over "open" in previous screen shot (no.5 above). Look PDF file NOT OPENED !! Instead program opened as if I double click it's icon !! (Bug)
7: this what appear in "right click menu" over PDF after select PDF-XCange as default program. Here also there is improvemet in 1.9.5 in comparism with version 1.9.4 In 1.9.5 only one option for PDF-XCange, while 2 options appear in 1.9.4
8: But look for what appear after click over (Open with "PDF-XCange Editor")in step shown in screen shot (7) above: PDF file NOT opened!! Just program opened as if I double click it's icon!! But all thing inside program work O.K
9: what appear in "right click menu" over "real icon" of program. I select "excute"
10: result of step taken in screen shot (9) above. All thing O.K from within program.
11: what appear in "right click menu" over "streng icon" of program. I select "Open with Wine Windows Program Launcher".
12: result of step taken in screen shot (11) above. All thing inside program work O.K This represent improvement in 1.9.5 in comparism with 1.9.4 where I was recieving message say: "do you like to install additional language?". If I click yes there will be error!!
13: This what appear when click "Open icon" from menu of program !! Is this normal ?? Please your kind answer.
13. 14, 15, 16 & 17: I have to follow these steps in sequence to open PDF files located in Linux OS Home directly.
BUT PLEASE NOTE THAT I CAN NOT USE SUCH WAY TO OPEN PDF FILES LOCATED IN ANY OF HARD DRIVES OF MY PC BECAUSE IT WILL APPEAR EMPTY FROM PDF THOUGH THERE ARE MANY PDF INSIDE THAT HARD DRIVE !! (Bug) Please notce that I use Linux Mint as USB live OS

--- Comment #24 from yousifjkadom@yahoo.com --- Hi. Are you sure it is Linux Mint bug not wine bug ?
Please look for attached screen shot (Linuxlite) that I taken from within Linuxlite disto. (Look for red arrow)
Not only "fulse icon", but ALL other errors that I mentioned in Linux Mint are existing in Linuxlite. If bug not in wine, in this case it must be in ubuntu itself !

--- Comment #29 from Rahim sb56637@gmail.com --- Hi, I am also experiencing this bug on openSUSE Tumbleweed with all of the latest Wine versions. When trying to open a PDF file with PDF-XChange Editor from the Nemo file manager in Linux (or any other file manager), it tries to install language packs for some reason. Then, it fails to install the language pack and doesn't try to open the document. I will attach screenshots.

--- Comment #32 from winetest@luukku.com --- There supposed to be only 1 problem per bug report so it would be simpler to mark bugs fixed. Also different issues tend to be different components that have nothing to do with eachother.
Your second issue is clearly bug 3548.
