--- Comment #1 from Juan Lang juan_lang@yahoo.com 2008-05-20 14:42:58 --- I'm not sure what you mean by "does not work w/o virtual desktop." I was able to run it without one. When you say it's extremely slow, do you mean it's slower without a virtual desktop than with one? What video card and drivers are you using?

--- Comment #2 from Marcel W. Wysocki maci@satgnu.net 2008-05-20 15:43:36 --- a lot slower than with a virtual desktop
i have a radeon 9600 mobility and use the free radeon drivers

--- Comment #3 from Juan Lang juan_lang@yahoo.com 2008-05-20 16:14:13 --- In that case, the bug is that it's slow. I strongly suspect it's a driver problem rather than a Wine one, but I'll just adjust the summary for now.

--- Comment #4 from Marcel W. Wysocki maci@satgnu.net 2008-05-20 16:23:16 --- you dont have the evil modeswitching flickering in fullscreen mode ?
in windowed mode everything just works fine.

--- Comment #5 from Juan Lang juan_lang@yahoo.com 2008-05-20 17:26:46 --- Not sure what you mean by the evil modeswitching flickering. Yes, when switching resolutions, the screen does flicker. It only changes resolution when the game starts, so it's not a problem for me.

--- Comment #6 from Marcel W. Wysocki maci@satgnu.net 2008-05-20 17:52:53 --- here it does flicker rapidly when i start the game, at least 10 times, however, its fine when it comes to the game menu, but as i said, really slow compared to virtual desktop
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13247
--- Comment #7 from Juan Lang juan_lang@yahoo.com 2008-05-20 18:22:34 --- No, it plays at a perfectly playable speed here in fullscreen with Nvidia drivers. As I said, I'm leaning toward this being a driver bug rather than a Wine one, but I'm not an expert on the matter.

--- Comment #8 from Marcel W. Wysocki maci@satgnu.net 2008-05-21 10:44:52 --- ok, then its probably a driver issue,
i get to try it out with another notebok next week which has an nvidia card in it. ill post my results then.

--- Comment #9 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2008-11-19 16:14:28 --- Is this still an issue in current (1.1.8 or newer) wine?

--- Comment #10 from Danimoth danimothonline@gmail.com 2008-11-29 07:59:01 --- Whether this is an issue or not cannot be confirmed, because another bug(14995) prevents full screen mode altogether. It crashes if you have full screen. However, windowed mode works fine.

This does NOT occur in 1.1.18. I don't remember having slow performance in previous versions either, but i am sure it doesn't happen now.
