Bug #: 33443 Summary: ACT2000 contact database crash straight after start up. Product: Wine Version: unspecified Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: reg.cowell@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 44250 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=44250 Bug report details
ACT2000 contact Manager program originally and still works with Windows XP. Other programs such as AutoCAD97 work perfectly with Wine under Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.
This program worked O.K. the first time I used it but after re-booting the computer I get the message that it has encountered a serious problem and need to close.
After closing and re-starting and even re-booting and starting again, I get the same error message.
Details shown below.

--- Comment #3 from Bruno Jesus 00cpxxx@gmail.com 2013-04-23 09:34:41 CDT --- Please, never run wine as root : http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#run_as_root
The log you attached shows that you are running the command in the wrong directory because the program act.exe was not found.

--- Comment #5 from reg.cowell@gmail.com 2013-04-24 10:38:16 CDT --- I have found that the problem is associated with installing wine on a Dual Boot, Windows 7 HP 64 Bit/Linux Ubuntu 12.04 system. I built a new system on the same machine with just Ubuntu 12.04 64 Bit LTS, installed 'wine' and then installed ACT2000 and then AutoCAD97 and all works fine. Is this something to do with wine finding the Windows partition on the disc?

That shouldn't affect anything, unless you were running the app from windows (which is not supported).

--- Comment #7 from reg.cowell@gmail.com 2013-04-27 03:22:01 CDT --- I have now cured the problem. I inserted a Ubuntu 12.04 64Bit CD and deleted the linux partitions. I then re-installed Ubuntu 12.04. I then installed wine, ACT2000 and AutoCAD97 and all works fine. I should have done this in the first place and saved a lot of hassle. Regards, Reg Cowell
