Bug #: 31169 Summary: SDET OGLviewer VB6 menu bar loses background Product: Wine Version: 1.5.8 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: tonybcrawford@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 40929 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=40929 Screenshot showing WRONG menu bar display
This is an intermittent problem. The menu buttons are displayed correctly but sometimes the menu bar background is missing. When this occurs the menu bar background copies whatever is underneath on the desktop.
The attachments show screenshot images for CORRECT and WRONG menu bar displays.

Does native comctl32 help?
I used winecfg (libraries tab) to override comctl32... it didn't help!

Try 'winetricks cc580'.
That didn't work either... problem still exists!

--- Comment #6 from Tony Crawford tonybcrawford@gmail.com 2012-07-08 13:26:40 CDT --- Actually, overriding comctl32 makes the situation worse! It then also messes up the graphics on some of the Menu Buttons. This never occurs without the override.

Is this still an issue in wine 1.6-rc5 or newer?
I'm waiting on the binaries before I install that version. However, I do have 1.6-rc4 installed and this problem appears to be fixed!
