I haven't tested GIT snapshot, but as for Wine 1.2-rc2 it's still the issue.

I'm not being able to retest this. When the milkdrop window opens the console
is flushed with d3d problems and freezes. I have intel onboard graphics, maybe
someone with ati or nvidia can test.

Besides with built-in msvcr90.dll it just doesn't work at all:

For what it's worth, that looks like a driver bug that has been fixed since
quite a while.

Works for me on NVIDIA, aside from these warnings:
