--- Comment #9 from Christian Costa titan.costa@wanadoo.fr 2008-11-30 08:27:59 --- Well, builtin amstream is mostly stub and quartz needs a some more work. To be honest, there is a long way to have it working with builtins dlls. I would suggest to create a bug about builtin amstream which describes your experiments (builtin amstream and native one/builtin quartz) and mark this bug as duplicate to it. Bug 8712 could be marked duplicate as well. Can you do that ?

Game info: Sacred Gold 2.28 ASE
On a clean prefix with no winetricks, the developer/publisher logo movies do not play when starting the game, in the Extras section the Intro and Underworld Intro movies will not play.
I then ran the following winetricks:
winetricks quartz = no movies winetricks devenum = no movies
I was finally able to work around the issue by running "winetricks amstream". After that, the dev/pub logos played and so did the two intro movies in the Extras section of the main menu.
I will post my terminal output without any of the aforementioned winetricks installed in my next comment.

This is my terminal output in Wine 1.9.13-191-g27ea380 with no winetricks or overrides.
Without any winetricks, when clicking on the Intro movies in the Extras section the screen goes black for a few seconds and then I am returned to the Extras menu as if I exited the movies prematurely.

Thanks for the test, can you check if the bug is fixed only with native:
amstream amstream+quartz amstream+devenum
Or are really all the three required?
I tried the following "winetricks amstream", no movies. Then I added "winetricks quartz" in the same prefix, still no movies. Only after I added "winetricks devenum" into the same prefix did the movies play.
In short, yes all three winetricks are required in order to see the movies proper.

Not sure either as I have both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of every kind of gstreamer-related plug-in provided by my distro. Maybe version 1.8.2 of gstreamer is the culprit? I am not sure...

In general the format of the test file is not particularly interesting. gstreamer handles the actual decoding, and will generally work equally well with all formats. We have multiple test files used in quartz:filtergraph, anyway.
