Photoscape won't run due to a MFC42.dll error. I had to download native
MFC42.dll in order for it to work and it won't anyway.

You got bad version of mfc42.dll Get a newer one.

did you try it?

- let me try it first;

- in 2 hours, I'll give you the answer;

- maybe my MFC42.dll is corrupted due to Wine but it's a genuine file and it's
new;

I have to reopen it because I'm almost sure my MFC42 file is not corrupted.

No it's not new. That message indicates you using really old version of that
dll. Don't download stuff from dll-files - they have only old versions.

you're right ;)

My MFC42 was invalid. I had to get a newer file from an Windows XP installation
and now it opens. I got some glitches on the menu.

I'm gonna submit a new bug,

I am new to Linux and use Mint 12. I have several programs that use wine O.K.
When I google PhotoScape problems I find one suggestion to download
dxfullsetup.
As a new user I do not know where to start.
As a grandad new to Mint 12 please help
