It doesn't crash when starting now, however, the main display draws overtop of the menu bar and status bar (which consequently gives me no way to stop emultion without killing the program and the frame-rate display flickers like mad).

I also had no sound and seemed to have no input capabilities, but I'll have to do a little more testing on those.
As for where to get ROMs, I got them from http://members.chello.nl/~c.lieberwirth/n64a.htm. Some of the links are dead and its been a while since I've been there, so I don't know how many are still active (PS: the .ace archive password is *what* it says, not *where* it says).
