Bug ID: 46591 Summary: My Xbox 360's r-analog keeps spinning with some Unity games Product: Wine-staging Version: 4.1 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: ahmed.com@protonmail.com CC: leslie_alistair@hotmail.com, z.figura12@gmail.com Distribution: ---
My Xbox 360's right analog keeps spinning without using it with some Unity games like Dreamfall Chapters and distance, but it works well with other Unity games like Cuphead, and Ori and The Blind Forest.
I use HP Probook 450 G1 which has an accelerometer that is used to protect the hard disk from sudden movements or falls, and Manajro Linux identify this accelerometer as a joystick. I tried to disable it completely with 'sudo chmod -r /dev/input/js1' but that does nothing at all.

--- Comment #1 from Zebediah Figura z.figura12@gmail.com --- This doesn't really seem like something which is within Wine's scope to fix. I would recommend you try using udev rules to prevent the device being detected as a HID Device.

--- Comment #2 from Ahmed Elsayed ahmed.com@protonmail.com --- I don't know how to do that but thanks anyway.

--- Comment #3 from Ahmed Elsayed ahmed.com@protonmail.com --- I was wrong about this bug being specific to Unity games. Thronebreaker has the same issue but with the left analog stick.

I was wrong about this bug being specific to Unity games. Thronebreaker has the same issue but with the left analog stick.
After a double check: Thronebreaker is another Unity game.

--- Comment #5 from Ahmed Elsayed ahmed.com@protonmail.com --- I can confirm that the changes made in wine 4.2 fixed the problem with Thronebreaker which the left controller kept moving down when I wasn't touch it. It is now moves to the reverse direction, but that is a known bug with this game, but the games is playable now with a controller, and that is a good thing. Thanks.

--- Comment #6 from Ahmed Elsayed ahmed.com@protonmail.com --- I don't think that the problem is related to the accelerometer, because I stopped it completely, and I still gets the same issue.

--- Comment #8 from Ahmed Elsayed ahmed.com@protonmail.com --- No, it is not fixed yet.
Thronebreaker is fixed, but Distance, and Dreamfall Chapters are still have the same issue.

--- Comment #9 from Ahmed Elsayed ahmed.com@protonmail.com --- Both games use Unity 5 engine. After extensive search, I found something that you can easily download, and test that has the same issue
(Yandere Simulator) which is free to download from this link:
https://download.cnet.com/Yandere-Simulator/3000-2115_4-77495798.html
It is (749.9 mb), please give it a try.
It is has the same issue with the menu, and the left analog's spinning issue.

--- Comment #10 from Ahmed Elsayed ahmed.com@protonmail.com --- I am so sorry. I tested Yandere Simulator with Wine 4.1 instead of Wine 4.2. This game has no problem with Wine 4.2. I will search for another game.

--- Comment #11 from Ahmed Elsayed ahmed.com@protonmail.com --- Oh! I found a solution. I entered Control Panel >> Game Controllers from PlayOnLinux, then disabled all controllers, and that fixed the problem with spinning camera.
It is a known bug for some Unity games, and I am glad that it can be fixed.
Sorry for wasting your time, and thanks for your efforts.

--- Comment #12 from Ahmed Elsayed ahmed.com@protonmail.com --- For wine, Control Panel can be accessed from control.exe that can be found inside ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/ or ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/syswow64.
A side note for anyone searching for the same issue.

--- Comment #13 from Ahmed Elsayed ahmed.com@protonmail.com --- Or it can be simply accessed by typing: wine control at the terminal.
